Anti-Ragging Policy

Objective:

To ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment, this college has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy against ragging. Ragging in any form—verbal, physical, or psychological—is strictly prohibited as per the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and relevant laws.

What Constitutes Ragging?
According to the UGC Regulations (2009), ragging includes:

  • Any conduct that humiliates, intimidates, or harasses a student
  • Acts that cause physical or psychological harm
  • Forcing a student to perform embarrassing or objectionable acts
  •  Use of abusive language, threats, or isolation

Consequences of Ragging:
Anyone found guilty of ragging may face:

  • Immediate suspension or expulsion
  • Criminal proceedings under IPC Sections 323, 506, etc.
  • Cancellation of admission or withholding of degree
  • Fines, community service, or mandatory counseling

Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC)

The ARC is responsible for monitoring, preventing, and addressing incidents of ragging on
campus.
